Murrieta is a city in southwestern Riverside County, California, United States. The population of Murrieta was 103,466 at the 2010 census. Murrieta experienced a 133.7% population increase between 2000 and 2010, according to the most recent census, making Murrieta one of the fastest-growing cities in the state.
The City of Murrieta is home to two hospitals: Kaiser Permanente and Loma Linda Hospital. We now have four hotels: Holiday Inn Express & Suites Murrieta, Comfort Inn & Suites Murrieta, Residence Inn by Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, and Hampton Inn & Suites.

1. Santa Rosa Plateau

Santa Rosa Plateau is a park/ hiking trail located west of Murrieta Ca. It is considered one of the top hiking trails in the area.
2. Murrieta Hot Springs Resort

Murrieta Hot Springs is an area in the eastern locale of Murrieta, California, which was attached on July 1, 2002. The healing mineral waters of the Murrieta Hot Springs have attracted visitors seeking restoration and rejuvenation. Located along Murrieta Hot Springs Road, it is the perfect destination for a day trip or to hold an event with friends or loved ones.

Juan Murrieta inspired the name Murrieta. Juan, a sheep herder from Spain, moved to Temecula Valley in 1873 and owned 52,000 acres before selling them in 1884. Joaquin Murrieta was baptized in Sonora, Mexico, in 1830; while still a teenager, he married and moved to California with his wife (1848). He tried prospecting during the Gold Rush, as did thousands of other immigrant Sonorans.

Murrieta Town Square Park is home to a one-of-a-kind memorial that reflects the community's strong patriotism and respect for the military. A tall granite obelisk stands proudly above a series of walls depicting dramatic and emotional imagery of our men and women who have served and sacrificed in the defense of our country.
5. Murrieta City Hall

When the Southern California Railroad included Murrieta on its southern transcontinental route in 1882, the city initially gained notoriety as a travel destination. With the opening of the Murrieta Hot Springs Resort in the early 1900s, the city of Murrieta once more saw a boom, this time fueled by its natural resources. In 1991, the City of Murrieta adopted its seal.
